Unfortunately, you don't get a real snow day when you work from home.
It started snowing on Tuesday night, which was when I decided it would be the perfect time to buy all the Valentine's Day candy I needed. (Listen, the important part of The Biggest Loser is when they weigh in, so I figured at 8:13 I had almost an hour of spare time to get something accomplished.) I also needed to pick up a package from a friends' house, but thankfully, the snow was wet and wasn't sticking to the roads.
The next morning though there was maybe 6 inches of snow on the ground. I cleaned off my car while my dad plowed the driveway.
Good thing I did that in the morning, because, by Wednesday evening, it looked like I hadn't done anything. I could only imagine how tall my car would be without my earlier efforts.

These were taken around 5:30 pm on Wednesday evening. Crazy! I don't remember the blizzard of '96, so this is the most snow I've seen in a long time, minus some semi-heavy snowstorms in college (but I think those seemed bigger due to their inconvenience).
Today, powered by 4 wheel drive, I trekked out to the post office. On the way, I saw a little girl, maybe 8 years old, fall off the top of a pretty tall and girthy snowman. She planted flat on her back, and her partner in crime just looked over her as she no doubt tried to regain her breath. It was awesome. And on the return trip, she was right back on the top of the snowman again. No fear. Gotta admire that.
