A Brief Review of 2009

My main New Years resolution is to blog more. Oh, and lose 10 pounds. Do you think if Bridget Jones had an online diary she'd use Drupal? I doubt it; she probably would use Blogger.

2009 was my first year of complete career employment (no retail!) where I took meetings in retro basements, chased politicians through the streets with a camera and made mailers for towns across the state. Not too shabby. And I only cried once!

2009 also marked the first full year of Joe and I as a couple. NYE 2008 we spent in a Walgreens at 4:30 am as I desperately searched for a toothbrush, while NYE 2009 we spent in his apartment making our own tacos and watching Jersey Shore. I think it was perfect.

This year I also went to Miami, San Francisco and Lancaster, PA, met Callum Blue, Norm Macdonald & Ted Leo, went to my first basketball game/sporting event at Madison Square Garden, saw a real life roller derby game, tailgated at Sonic, and got an iPhone. Not too shabby!

Also, I realize I spent 8 out of the last 10 years of this decade in school. That's a pretty weird thought. Despite the fact that I had graduated in 2007, I watched Joe graduate in 2008 and spent a lot of my time with him on campus. So, this year, I'm getting used to the idea of the next decade being completely school free.

What will 2010 bring? I want to visit Europe, (or, as a cheap substitute, Canada), better myself as a web builder and designer and ... maybe meet The Lonely Island guys. That would be cool.
