The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Even though October generally drives me crazy, work-wise, it is also one of my favorite months because during the last two weeks, every channel on TV runs nothing but horror movies.

There's a scene in American Psycho where Patrick Bateman is working out in his apartment while The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is on. I'm very much the same in that I love to have horror movies on when I work. (Not work out. I don't do that much anymore. I don't kill hookers, either. This comparison was a stretch at best.) I love the sounds of screams and dramatic music and squishes and slices, especially while I'm working. Don't know why, but I do.

So this past week has been excellent in terms of work background noise options. So far, I've had on The Mist, Thirteen Ghosts, The Shining, Ginger Snaps and Bravo's 13 Scarier Movie Moments countdown during the day. And I see on AMC's schedule I have Halloween and a bunch of its sequels, The Amityville Horror, and Night of the Living Dead to choose from! It's great! There's so many options! Usually I have to scourge the high-up-there cable movie channels to find something suitable.

I'm also currently reading Twilight, but that's a different kind of scary.

In other news, they are making a Blair Witch Project 3, no doubt due to the success of Paranormal Activity. I know that sounds less than thrilling, I am excited. BW3 is rumored to be a prequel, which I have faith in. Plus, how could it be any worse than Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows? Blair Witch 2 was a total mess; a shitstorm developed while in a vacuum of quality denial and a total waste of goodwill from audiences. Yet, I still watch it every time it's on TV. WHY DO I LOVE GARBAGE. I don't know. I just don't know.

"I don't know" seems to be the main theme of this post regarding my violent media preferences.
