I was going make another 500 Days of Summer quote the title of this blog entry, but I'm getting hit hard enough by spammers already.
A few nights ago I decided that I didn't like how the URLs of my blog entries looked. My slugs are just the title of my entries, in front of blog/. Simple and straightforward, it's a style used at a lot of places. But then I remembered what we always tell our clients at work to do when composing their slugs for news articles and press releases: include the date.
So that's what I did. I went back and added the date in my preferred format to all my blog entry URLs. Considering that the web creation/maintainance aspect of my job has dropped off considerably in the past month, I kind of enjoyed the tedious task no one would notice but me.
It's been a rough week, but I suppose that's another entry for later. Right now, I'd rather bask in my small anal-retentive victories.

Tedious tasks
They're my favorite. When I took over a client's website, I spent more time implementing includes and cleaning awful code than anything else, and the only person who would ever know is me. Maybe it's OCD.
